Welcome to…
The Thursday Murder Club
In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet weekly in the Jigsaw Room to discuss unsolved crimes; together they call themselves The Thursday Murder Club. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron might be pushing eighty but they still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
When a local developer is found dead with a mysterious photograph left next to the body, the Thursday Murder Club suddenly find themselves in the middle of their first live case. As the bodies begin to pile up, can our unorthodox but brilliant gang catch the killer, before it’s too late?
Life in a retirement village is not so boring, after all….
A couple of years ago, one retired police officer was trying to solve her cold cases with her friend at the retirement village. She started the Thursday Murder Club. The conclusions from the „investigations“ never left the Jigsaw Room. Now, she is in the retirement home suffering from dementia, and her friend recruted three other people to solve crimes, because the show must go on.
Until, one day, a real murder happens at their place. A locat developer is found dead at his place and there is a mysterious photograph next to his body. The four members of the Thursday Murder Club have a real chance to solve a real crime, not just to observe some cold case. They need practicing their grey cells. No, they aren’t messing with the investigation. They are just helping their friend, the new police officer, to solve her first big case. A little help can’t hurt anyone, can it?
As the investigation goes, more dead bodies appear. The Thursday Murder Club. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron have to work fast and include all connections and family members to find the killer and save their village. Maybe their life experience is what this investigation needs.
The clock is ticking…..
I’ve found this interesting and relaxing read. Really enjoyed while spending time with Joyce, Elizabeth, Ibrahim and Ron. They are all such lovely characters. They reminded me of an old tv show „Super Gran“ that I used to watch when I was a kid. No, they don’t have super powers, but they are smart and brave and funny and old but young in heart. The story is an intriquing mystery to solve and I had a great time reading it. Just to practice my grey cells.
