Now 32, Lou discovers that Mike is involved with teenager Chloe Meadows. Determined to make sure history doesn't repeat itself, she returns home to confront him for the damage he's caused.
But Mike is a predator of the worst kind, and as Lou tries to bring him to justice, it's clear that she could once again become his prey...
Hello, my fellow readers and bloggers. It is beginning of the spring already (covered with snow here in Macedonia) and I hope you are having a great time. I have a very good book recommendation for you today. The Fear, the fifth psychological thriller written by the amazing C.L.Taylor came out just two days ago. I had a great time reading this book and I hope you will too. It literally left me with my jaw dropped! Here are my thoughts for the book. Enjoy!
Lou Wandsworth’s relationships never worked out. She has never managed to establish an emotional and physical relationship with someone. It was all because of the love of her life when she was just a teenager. Or at least she thought he was the life of her life, her karate teacher, an older man who convinced her that he loved her. And she believed him. It took her some time to figure out that Mike was just grooming her. It took her some time to figure out that Mike was just a pedophile. Now, when she is 32, she accidentally sees him kissing another teenage girl and telling her that he loves her. Now, she knows she has to react, she has to stop him. Thirteen years old girl is just a thirteen years old girl, not an adult woman.
Chloe is only thirteen years old girl. No friends, no confidence in herself, with family problems at home, she is the perfect prey for people like Mike. But Mike cares about her, he is the friend of her father. Some girl falsely accused him for grooming years ago, but those were only lies. At least she believes so. Mike loves her.
Wendy is an older woman. She stalks Lou. Checks Lou’s Facebook profile all the time. Stalks her friends. Stalks her boyfriend. Why is she so keen on her?
Through the stories of these three women we find out about Mike, the predator of the worst kind, the pedophile. Someone who looks so ordinary, someone you’ll think is the greatest friend of troubled teenagers. But he chooses really carefully. He chooses young girls with troubles at home, young girls who are bullied by their classmates, young girls who have no one to complain to, no one to ask help from. He tells them what they want to hear, he pretends to be their friend, someone who listens. He plays his role until he gets what he wants, sex with a child.
But in this book you won’t get just the stories of the three women. The amazing Mrs. Taylor twists the plot from the very beginning. There are very unexpected situations, you have no idea what comes next. Lou, Chloe, Wendy, Mike, all connected, all with their own side of the story. There were moments when I was biting my nails, moments when I was afraid to turn the next page in fear of what comes next. And the ending, oh, my God! My jaw dropped to the floor! I wasn’t expecting that even in my worst nightmares! So, if you are in the search of gripping psychological thriller that will turn your mind upside down, this is the perfect read for you! Five stars from me!
